Coming Home Meditation Tomorrow 9-10am EST ~ Throat Chakra & Calling Heart-Centered Philanthropists!
We move into the throat to explore what speech says about how we're doing
Dear friends,
I feel ready to move our meditative awareness practice into the throat chakra. In fact, I feel excited to explore alongside you. Join me from 9-10am EST tomorrow for my weekly meditation offering, Coming Home:
If you’ve never been to a Coming Home meditation, maybe you’re wondering what it is. I’ll say a few words about the practice here.
I developed this offering of embodied, collective meditation during the early months of COVID when I was in need of deep grounding and many in my community were, too. I wanted to find a way to settle into the body, relax the nervous system, relate with earth, be peaceful, and heal what’s in the way of our being more fully present to our lives, this Reality, and each other. Coming Home is a guided practice that emphasizes subtle loving awareness. We work with the imaginal and the subtle dimensions to evoke and invite states of healing, opening, and integration in the body. It’s really accessible to any level of practice. Wherever you are, it will reach you. If you receive these emails and a particular topic speaks to you, COME. It may be calling you.
The usual format is this: we gather, I speak for 15 minutes or so on the topic, we meditate together for 25-30 minutes and then we share for the time we have remaining. It’s a very welcoming community and very supportive.
For the past couple of months, I’ve been offering a deep dive into the chakra system. We started at the root and have moved up through the sacral, the solar plexus, the heart and tomorrow we will start with two weeks on the throat—in Sanskrit, the Vishuddha (pure, purity) chakra. The element associated with this chakra is Space or Ether. And the primary function of the throat chakra is self-expression, creative manifestation, speaking up, speaking clearly, asking for what we need, saying what needs to be said, not keeping secrets. In the Hindu yogic system, the color is blue and the sound/bija syllable is HAM. In the Tibetan system, the throat chakra is red and the syllable for attuning or tuning it is AH.
We will do some simple physical exercises to open the area and then we’ll meditate on this chakra to see what state its in and what it needs from us.
I have an announcement on behalf of my friend and collaborator, David Sauvage. David is holding a plant medicine ceremony specifically for philanthropists, impact investors and stewards of wealth. The intention is to help them align with their highest purpose. It's April 14-16 at his house in the Hudson Valley. If you are interested, contact him directly here: davidrsauvage@gmail.com.
Coming Home is a pay-what-you-feel experience each week. Suggested donation is $10-20 for drop ins. Whatever you feel called to give is wonderful and appreciated. Contributions can be made here: Paypal: schuyler@artofemergence.com or Venmo: ElizabethSchuyler-Brown. Paid subscribers, you are already covered. Thank you.
