Coming Home Meditation ~ Tomorrow (Thurs) from 12-1pm EST
Join our collective sitting practice and experience the power of collective presence and prayer
Dear Friends,
Coming Home meditation will be tomorrow at noon EST. Some of you tried to come to the Tuesday 9am class and I wasn’t there. I apologize. As of next week, we’ll be back on the twice/week schedule. Getting my daughter back to school (today!) has given me a little more room. We’re settling into structure after surfing the waves of a wild and wonderful summer.
For those of you who are new, I have been offering the Coming Home meditation practice regularly since 2020. Recently, I have evolved the format for the hour-long session. We check-in and presence what’s alive for us for the first 30 minutes and then I weave a meditation/journey/prayer to take us into even deeper relating to what is and to each other for the second 30 minutes. It’s artful as we listen deeply to each other, spot meaningful synchronicities, and share ourselves openly. Even before the “official” meditation begins, I find myself in a space of collective healing.
You can also witness. That is important participation, too.
These are turbulent and radical times, my friends. Come join us to hear from your brtohers and sisters about what’s happening in their lives. I promise it makes you feel less alone and more connected. The beauty of what is brought in never ceases to amaze me, and I don’t just mean content. I mean process, too. I mean the tone of our voices, the tears, the sighs, the expressions of awe, laughter, joy. We touch a range of emotions. We find ourselves dancing with unexpected metaphors. We bow to animal totems and the symbolism in everything. Even the weather gets included. This practice is about finding out HOW MUCH EXPERIENCE, HOW MUCH LOVE we can include in our awareness….how much LIFE we can EMBODY together. It’s pure magic.
Last thing…I mentioned last week that I sense this practice is headed in the direction of prayer. This makes me feel excited and a little bit nervous, if I’m honest. I have a preacher without a pulpit inside me, a few sermons I’d like to share. I am interested in this intersection, this hybrid, of meditation, trance, and prayer. I will say a little bit tomorrow about how I see the difference between meditation and prayer, so come if you’re interested. Come be with us. Come as you are.
I say this a lot…this is my favorite offering of all my offerings. I think it’s the most potent and the most healing. If you haven’t experienced it, try it.
No pre-registration necessary. We meet at noon est here…
