Coming Home Tomorrow at 9am EST ~ More On Numbness
A continuation of last week's look at how numbness is present in our bodies and underlies our idea of "normalcy" in culture.
Dear Friends,
Join me tomorrow morning from 9-10:15am EST for our weekly Coming Home meditation practice. Last week we talked about and surfaced numbness in our systems. The topic seemed to resonate a lot with those in attendance.
At the end of last week’s session I suspected we might bring numbness back for a “part two” this week. Specifically, I’d like to look at generational trauma and how the numbness of collective trauma defines the cultures we’re swimming in.
We’ll talk about:
disembodied energies and entities
how feelings need to be felt eventually and so they find ways to travel through generations until someone is willing to feel them
transference and how numbness can enter intersubjective space
how numbness resonates with numbness
how much of “normal” is numbness
how you can seem crazy in a world that rests in numbness when you are ready and willing to feel what is actually happening - it’s heretical!
If you come, you’ll hear me tell the story of eating dinner here last night and how I nearly lost myself in a sea of numbness :)
