Coming Home Tomorrow Morning at 9am EST ~ Quiet Ecstasy
Tomorrow we will meditate on the peaceful nature of the Bliss Body
Dear Friends,
Join me tomorrow for another Coming Home meditation and community talk. We will be exploring a subject very near and dear to my heart: BLISS.
Bliss is our natural state of being, our birthright, but also something we spend a lot of time seeking in life because we’re not in touch with our bliss or we’ve forgotten our True Nature. As a recovering ecstatic-experience junkie, I had—in the past—both a great capacity for bliss and a slightly addictive relationship to it. After a lot of healing, grounding and the maturation that comes with age (blessedly!) I’ve found the gentler side of ecstasy…and it’s beyond beautiful…beyond words...quiet, sublime bliss.
Gaining access to this space within ourselves is not about getting somewhere, but being fully here. It’s about releasing what’s in the way of what’s already here. It’s about dilating, expanding to include more joy, higher states of consciousness…and not contracting out of habit, fear, or overwhelm. Easier said, than done, I know. But, every effort we make towards abiding in this place is rewarded. And even a glimpse is medicine for the weary. We take this time bathing in bliss to refill our cup, to return to Source, and to remember who we are in Reality. Then, when we come back into worldly relation, we have more clarity and better perspective. It’s like washing the glass on our lenses. A practice that is sorely needed in these times of excessive muck.
We will play with a practice of raising the energy from the lower energy centers through the central channel to the bliss bindu in the head. We will use fire/heat and coolness/water within the body to create the conditions for a shedding of worldly concerns. We will also discuss the difference between meditative dissociation and actual non-dual experience.
(...) I am of the nature of consciousness.
I am made of consciousness and bliss.
I am nondual, pure in form, absolute knowledge, absolute love.
I am changeless, devoid of desire or anger, I am detached.
I am One Essence, unlimitedness, utter consciousness.
I am boundless Bliss, existence and transcendent Bliss.
I am the Atman, that revels in itself.
I am the Sacchidananda that is eternal, enlightened and pure.
— Tejobindu Upanishad, 3.1-3.12
Join me tomorrow from 9-10:15a EST for an exploration of bliss.
