EVENT: A Collective Prayer for Los Angeles ~ 9am PT/12pm ET Sunday, 1/12
Let's gather to hold the enormity of what's happening in LA and send waves of healing prayer their way.
Dear Friends,
It’s been so hard for me to feel truly useful and supportive to my beloved in LA at this time—far away in New York as I am. I know this is the case for many of us who don’t live in LA right now but still have a deep connection to that place: grew up there, have family and friends there, once lived there, made memories there on vacation, just love this part of the world for any reason at all!
One thing that I KNOW works and I do regularly is PRAY. And what I know about prayer is that it is amplified by magnitudes when we do it together.
I feel called to hold a prayer circle this Sunday, Jan 12 from 12-1:30pm. It will be free and open to all. Our prayer is the offering. Our hearts are the offering.
Come for the whole time or drop in for a little while. It will be like a good church. We will gather, hold space for whatever wants to be witnessed or shared, support each other, and generate an enormous outpouring of love and strength for all who need it in Los Angeles; all who are still in the thick of this tragedy, displaced by it, fighting the fires, mourning the loss of loved ones or homes or a way of life…
This feels so completely like the right thing to do at this time because it was Ari who brought prayer back into my life. Over the last few years, prayer has been central to our epic love. We pray regularly together and he is masterful at it. He prays all the time and for so many. I love his prayers. So, now I would like to give back to Ari and friends in Los Angeles and the land there I love. I know many of you do, too. Let’s do it together.
When we gather and pray together, we invoke and invite help from forces way, way beyond our small selves. This I know to be true. The coherent energy we generate from our hearts, our desire directed towards the benefit, soothing, alleviation of suffering and upliftment of others…this is real and it really helps.
I hope you’ll join if you are far from LA or if you are there on the ground and you’d like to share your experience. If you feel the call, come.
really glad your house survived! I'll try to come to the meeting on Sunday
