Re-Emergence ~ Part 2 ~ Now, We Weave
A response to your response to yesterday's post and a meet-up/gathering
Dear friends,
Yesterday’s post has generated a lot of beautiful outreach. I’ve heard from folks at various stages of their own cocooning/hermetic and re-emergence process. Please keep sharing your stories!
Something that strikes me in the response is how grateful folks are for the resonance and confirmation of THEIR OWN INTUITION. As I suspected, there are a lot of us. So many beautiful, budding butterflies have heard the call, but are feeling (understandably) reluctant or scared to emerge. I get it! I’m right there with you—walking right alongside.
Let’s get together and give each other support. Read on…
I realize something quite obvious…re-emergence is a together job. We need each other. And we need to support each other in bringing the gifts of our hermitage back into the world. THIS is how we build Sacred World together…not by leaving the gifts and rituals and prayers behind, but by bringing them with us; creating new rituals and prayers for the world; championing, supporting and helping our friends who are doing this delicate, courageous work of bringing SPIRIT into this EVERYDAY MOMENT…
For example, I heard from my friend, Chad. Chad is a beautiful soul who has been on a journey from technology/attorney badass to profound yogi to philosopher and now he’s stepping back into technology/AI. He wrote to me: “That whole email resonated so deeply…I’m writing a book about what it means to be human in the age of AI 🤓” I recommend his video here. In it he says something I love: “This is me coming full circle.”
And my friend, Mari, who is absolutely the most gifted dream analyst I know and also holds a day job editing media content, shared her experience, which resonated with me and I bet many of you:
I really resonated with your call back into the world. I think I have also gone into retreat since the pandemic. Going remote at work and moving to Iowa created a cocoon for me that allowed me to withdraw from the over-extended life that I lived before the pandemic. And it has been very healing for me in so many ways.
She goes on to describe her own call back into the world:
Over the last year or so I began to have a series of dreams (and many tarot spreads and synchronicities) that have been, in very clear terms, pushing me to rejoin the collective. And they have given me a path to take, a new path.
It’s time. Momentum. What feels key is bringing the beauty of hermitage to the world—our prayers and meditations and private musings and joy and bliss…everything that felt too precious for this harsh world…bring it. Boldly, unapologetically. We have to make the world conform to our wisdom…seed it, plant it, sow it. It will take friends, encouragement from others, support, cheerleading…which is ehem, another part of me I’ve integrated :)
Let’s gather. Let’s share how we’re feeling and what we’re feeling. Let’s create sacred space to talk about what’s calling us, pulling us, and pushing us back into the world. And let’s talk about our excitement and fears around it all. Let’s bring it all into the light and bask in the joy of community and not being alone. Let’s be together in our re-emergence.

I want to respect that there are so many timelines and we’re all on our own journeys. So much beauty happens in the cocooning. So much growth, too. If you are in your hermitage and it’s time to stay there, stay! What do you need? How can we support your incubation time, listening time, growing time? I want to hear from you, too.

I feel so humbled by this late-dawning realization that THE HERMIT is a real phase of growth and critical to our human experience and SPIRIT. I knew this intellectually, but I hadn’t really identified with it personally because it looks very different to the lone man with a lantern standing on the traditional tarot cards or the tales I love about saints and yogis living in caves in the Himalayas or huts in the forest. Turns out, we find our hermitage where we can in the modern world—sometimes in the cracks and crevices between family duties, work duties, social engagements, etc.
Join me whatever phase of metamorphosis you’re in. I hope to re-emerge with you!

The gathering is June 26 (this coming Wednesday), not July, right?
Some sort of community was exactly what I thought when I read your first post. I know so many people as well trying to do things differently, spiritually than their past careers without “success” Shutting the door to the world has not turned out to be fruitful
